| So, here are some of my favorite spring06 shoes:
First, Chloe. Chloe embodies the soft, elegant, and natural girl. The sheer white tops are paired with seemingly clashing chunky leather shoes. However, the whole image is all about shape and shape. The shape of the tops and the shape of the wedges:
i love the thick wood platform wedge/heel with leather.
Next up: Balenciaga. The shoes are so unique this spring season. Who would have thought to make mirror heeled shoes embedded with moon rocks? Kudos to Pierre Harding. The clothes came from a Prince inspiration, but nonetheless one of a kind. Some outfits were bold, with striking stripes. I absolutely loved the 'swirly' lace on some of the dresses/tops. But here are the shoes:
looks uncomfortable.
Last: Lanvin. Ohmygoodness. Lanvin's shoes are gorgoeous! I think partly why i like them so much is the whole BOLD, Strong, superwoman look of the shoes. the patent leather and color of the leather reminds me of heroines. Yet, the stilleto straps are sexy. The dinstinctly cut wood platform and cone shaped heel set the women even higher. hence the name of the shoe: Vixen.
Mmmmm. My favorite shoes. I just wish I had the $$ and the occasion to wear them to. | | |
| For people who care what I'm talking about:
So since the spring season is "wrapping up" in the fashion world, it has just begun in ours. But here are some ads campaigns I must critique. There's more to come...
So first, D&G. Ok. I LOVE their clothes, but the whole ad image is just awkward. The 4 page spread in Vogue looks like a bunch of hoes, barn prostitutes trying seduce ppl in... haystacks? (this is just one of the 4 pages of the ad)
So next is the GUCCI one. Again, i have fallen for the dresses. Oh so flattering and gorgeous. But then as i looked at it some more, I knew why i loved it so much-- they're a copy of the ROCHAS fall 05 dresses by theyskens. NO WONDER. i used to be obsessed over the rochas dress (still am). the blue/grey one pictured below is prob. my fave dress ever. And I'm mad that Gucci copied them, maybe 'copy' is too harsh, 'resemble'? anyway, to check out how much the dresses look alike, check out the rochas fall 05 line for yourself. http://www.style.com/fashionshows/collections/F2005RTW/complete/thumb/ROCHAS?trend=&page=1 Theyskens designed it first--not gucci.
My favorite dress. It's by Rochas, and im a bit irritated that Gucci used Rochas as "inspiration" for their spring06 season.
Another Rochas dress. Do you see the resemblence?
Ok, well my scanners not working, but there are more ads i have issues w/. stay tuned... if u care
